Etsy’s Top Wedding Trends for 2022

After cancellations and delays in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic, 2022 is finally looking like the year of the wedding! Many couples who postponed their weddings or scaled down their festivities are now looking to celebrate—basically, it's go big or go home, according to a Brides.com article. The wedding website reports that according to Etsy, searches for wedding-related items have increased by 145% in the last three months. It also spoke with Etsy Trend Expert Dayna Isom Johnson to discuss the wedding terms couples are searching the most, which can predict the newest 2022 trends.

Bows

Brides want embellishments that will make them feel noticed, the Brides.com article explains. Etsy says there has been a 51% increase in searches for gowns and dresses with bows and a 114% increase in searches for bridal or bridesmaids' bow accessories.

"While certainly not new to the wedding scene, bows are a welcomed re-emerging trend that add touches of playfulness, femininity and glamour to both bridal attire and wedding day decor," Johnson notes in the article.

'60s Fashion

The swinging '60s are back, baby! Etsy has seen a 29% increase in searches for short wedding dresses, as well as a 41% increase in searches for short or shoulder-length veils, Brides.com reports.

"This transformative decade tossed out all of the traditional wedding rules and allowed brides to express their style with minidresses, flared sleeves, and shorter veils," Johnson says in the article. "Today’s couples are embracing those same ideals and saying goodbye to cookie-cutter ensembles."

Royal Vibes

With the popularity of shows like Netflix's “Bridgerton" and fascination with all things Harry and Megan, regency weddings are a 2022 trend.

"Regencycore quickly stole our hearts last year within the home decor and fashion spaces so it’s no surprise that this style is making a grand entrance into weddings," Johnson explains in the Brides.com article. "With staples like florals, pastels and vintage tableware, the regency trend is the perfect fit for an ultra-romantic wedding celebration."

Destination Weddings

Because travel was restricted during the pandemic, couples are looking to travel for their nuptials. Etsy has seen a search increase up to 92% on beach-themed favors with up to 140% search increase in passport-inspired wedding invitations, according to Brides.com.

"This trend proves that couples are getting creative and bringing their dream destination weddings to life, even without traveling," Johnson says in the article.
Bright Colors

Etsy's data shows a 327% increase in searches for colorful wedding items, the Brides.com article says. Gemstone engagement rings are also expected to trend in the coming year with an increase of 249% in searches for ruby engagement rings, 105% in emerald engagement rings and 12% in sapphire engagement rings.

"From punchy shades of red and yellow to jewel tones like emerald green, these bold hues inject joy and personality into any celebration," Johnson says in the article.

Do you offer Photo & Video?

Absolutely! While our DJs are pretty talented, we’ve learned it’s probably best if they stick to mixing music instead of trying to balance a camera while running the dance floor. 😅

For photo & video, we proudly partner with Cufflink Media — an incredible team that shares the same energy, professionalism, and attention to detail that we’re known for. Together, we help create a seamless wedding experience so your biggest moments not only feel unforgettable in the moment, but look incredible for years to come.

Do you work with other vendors?

Yes! While we have partnerships with Cufflink Media, we do not require you use them exclusively. You can always book us independently and we’ll ensure that all vendors are on the same page throughout the entire planning process and evening.

How do I secure my date?

We ask that when you are ready to book, you give us a signed contract and a $800 deposit. The initial deposit comes off the final balance. After that, you are locked in to your date. Payment plans are available, but we do not require the final balance until a week before your wedding.

Are there any hidden fees?

No. All prices you see include tax, set-up & tear-down, and travel to most places. When paying with credit card there is a 3.8% convenience fee. No fees when paying by check or cash.
