Working in our office, I get to meet with a lot of couples in the early stages of their wedding planning. More often than not they don’t even try to hide the fact that they are very unsure about certain aspects of the wedding! I always reassure them that is normal and having nerves is typical. You only plan a wedding once in a lifetime and it should be treated as such. Sound Precision Entertainment has been involved with the planning of thousands of weddings over the past 14 years!

Recently, a popular question from brides and grooms has been; Do we have to go table to table after dinner and say hi to all of our guest? In short, no! However, you do not want to be labeled as ungrateful. Remember that your wedding guest have given up their entire evening for you, and in most cases provided a very generous gift. So, what’s a bride to do? Below find two wedding cheats that save you time and aggravation.

An average wedding has between 150 and 250 guests. If each table in your reception holds 10 people, that means your wedding will have between 15 and 25 tables. Even if you only spent 3 minutes per table saying hello, giving hug and kisses you would still waste a whopping 45-75 minutes of your reception. This is simply unacceptable! Especially when we recently reported the average cost of weddings have skyrocketed over the past 5 years.

Wedding hack #1: Do a receiving as your guest enter the wedding reception.

Traditionally, that’s the bride’s mother, followed by her father, the groom’s mother and father, the bride, the groom, the maid or matron of honor, and best man. When the receiving line is held at the reception site, have a waiter offer a variety of drinks—juice, punch, sparking or still water, Champagne—to those waiting in line.

Wedding hack #2: Allow the DJ to be the bad guy.

Sometimes tradition wins, or Mom and Dad demand that you go table to table and quite frankly you decide it’s not worth the fight. During your final meeting express to your DJ that you plan on going table to table and after 25, or 30 minutes, PLEASE PULL US AWAY! That way when you start the process and find out this is taking way longer then you would like. The DJ is there to pull you away and save the day! This completely takes the fault away from the bride and groom and keeps the wedding on time for the duration if the evening.

No. All prices you see include tax, set-up & tear-down, and travel to most places. When paying with credit card there is a 3.8% convenience fee. No fees when paying by check or cash.

Do you work with other vendors?

Yes! While we have partnerships with vendors, we do not require you use them exclusively. You can always book us independently and we’ll ensure that all vendors are on the same page throughout the entire planning process and evening.
