Many people plan their weddings during the summer months because of the beautiful sunshine and warm weather.
However, the summer months can also be dangerous, so you need to take extra precautions to ensure you and your guests stay healthy and comfortable.
Sound Precision Entertainment has attended hundreds of summer weddings, so we’ve compiled a list of our best stay-cool tips:
1. Stay hydrated.
This is probably the most important thing summer wedding tip. Your wedding day will be very busy, so it might be hard to remember to drink water. However, to prevent dehydration, you need to drink water throughout the day. Prepare beforehand by making sure you have plenty of water available while you’re getting ready, riding in the limo and taking pictures. You also want to provide water at your ceremony and reception sites for you, your wedding party, and your guests. This is especially important if your venues are outdoors.
2. Wear sunscreen.
You don’t want to have a painful, red sunburn after your wedding, especially if you’re heading off to your honeymoon! To prevent this, apply sunscreen liberally throughout the day. You should also bring extra sunscreen for your bridal party, and set some out for your guests if they will be outdoors.
3. Keep seating areas cool.
You want to be sure that your guests are comfortable during outdoor ceremonies and receptions. Don’t use metal chairs, which will heat up in the sun and could potentially burn your guests. You can also set up tents or umbrellas to create shady seating areas.
4. Make fans fun.
Provide fans for your guests as fun favors! You can pick up personal, battery-operated fans, and set them out in baskets for your guests to use to cool down. You might also consider paper fans, which you can personalize with your own image. They are also less noisy than battery-operated fans.
5. Pack extra hygiene items.
Feel fresh and beautiful all day long by making sure you have hot-weather essentials such as deodorant, baby wipes, hairspray and extra makeup. Keep these items handy so that you always remain picture-perfect!
