In the ever-evolving world of weddings, traditions are being reimagined, and the roles of flower girls and ring bearers are no exception. While it used to be customary to have young children in these roles, a delightful trend has emerged where adults take on the responsibility, bringing a unique twist to the wedding party lineup.

At Sound Precision Entertainment, we’re always on the lookout for what’s hot in the world of weddings, and this trend has certainly caught our attention. From flower bros to flower grannies and even canine ring bearers, couples are embracing the unconventional, creating memorable and light-hearted moments on their special day. Plus, with the rise of social media, these moments become shareable gems on platforms like Reels and TikTok, ensuring your wedding leaves a lasting digital footprint.

But, let’s dive deeper into this trend and explore whether it aligns with wedding etiquette and what adult flower people and ring bearers actually do.

The Role of an Adult Flower Person or Ring Bearer:

An adult flower person or ring bearer is considered a full-fledged member of the bridal party, standing alongside the maid of honor, bridesmaids, and groomsmen. Their roles are simple yet meaningful. During the processional, the flower person walks down the aisle ahead of the bride, scattering flower petals and perhaps some biodegradable glitter, adding a touch of whimsy to the atmosphere. Afterward, they may choose to stand with the wedding party at the altar or take a seat in the front row to enjoy the rest of the ceremony.

As for the ring bearer, their task involves safeguarding the rings until the ceremony. They then make their way down the aisle, presenting the rings to the officiant just before the vows are exchanged. And if you opt for your furry friend as a ring bearer, special ring pillows or collars are available to make them part of the action!

Who Can Be an Adult Flower Person or Ring Bearer?

The beauty of this trend lies in its versatility. It’s unexpected, and it never fails to bring smiles and laughter from wedding guests. We’ve witnessed grandmothers and great-grandmothers taking on the role of flower girls, granting them a special place in your big day. Bridesmaids and groomsmen have also been known to step into the flower girl or ring bearer’s shoes during the processional.

In some cases, a close friend or family member not part of the wedding party may eagerly accept the role of an adult flower person or ring bearer. However, it’s essential to approach the subject delicately, as some adults may be surprised by the unconventional request. Yet, many will embrace the idea wholeheartedly and bring their own unique flair to the role. When it comes to your furry best friend, no convincing is needed—treats are their motivation!

What Should an Adult Flower Person or Ring Bearer Wear?

Unlike children, you can expect and encourage your adult flower person or ring bearer to wear attire that suits their age and style. If they are already part of the wedding party, they can simply don their designated wedding attire, adding a flower crown or other fun accessories to stand out. For those not in the wedding party, allowing them to choose their outfit in the wedding colors helps them feel like part of the team.

If your grandmothers are taking on the role of flower girls, let them wear whatever makes them feel comfortable, confident, and beautiful on your big day. After all, weddings are all about celebrating love and individuality!

Embrace the unexpected and add a touch of whimsy to your wedding by considering adult flower people and ring bearers. It’s a trend that brings laughter, uniqueness, and a memorable twist to your special day. At Sound Precision Entertainment, we’re always here to keep you in the loop with the latest wedding trends and help you create an unforgettable wedding experience.
