They haven\u2019t started planning their wedding yet, but she\u2019s learned a lot about the process while working for SPE.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: karla;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Adams has been in the DJ business for almost a year, but she\u2019s a natural. It might have something to do with her friendship with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.spedj.com\/spe\/clevelandweddingdj\/cleveland-wedding-dj-spotlight-matt-hribar\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Matt Hribar<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, one of SPE\u2019s most popular DJs.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 12pt; font-family: karla;\">\u201cI got into this business almost by mistake,\u201d she said. \u201cMatt told me that SPE was hiring, and he thought\u00a0I would be perfect for the job.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 12pt; font-family: karla;\">The Erie, PA, native attended John Carroll University and now lives in Old Brooklyn, so she\u2019s familiar with the Cleveland wedding scene.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 12pt; font-family: karla;\">\u201cMy favorite part of the job is when I can feel the reactions of the crowd when the music changes or the mix was really smooth,\u201d Adams said. \u201cPeople are outwardly appreciative of music in their body language even if not in words.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 12pt; font-family: karla;\">While Adams plays fail-safe songs that are sure to please the crowd, such as \u201cHey Ya!\u201d by OutKast, \u201cYeah!\u201d by Usher or \u201cLivin\u2019 La Vida Loca\u201d by Ricky Martin, she\u2019ll also play tunes like \u201cMan, I Feel Like A Woman\u201d by Shania Twain to encourage the ladies to hit the floor, followed by a hit like \u201cAfrica\u201d by Toto to bring the men out. She\u2019ll round it out with a song everyone knows and loves, like \u201cSeptember\u201d by Earth, Wind &amp; Fire.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 12pt; font-family: karla;\">\u201cI&#8217;m also a big fan of mixing in guest requests because that has the potential to send us down a musical avenue that maybe I or the guests didn&#8217;t expect,\u201d she said. \u201cA lot of times I&#8217;ll do some mic work to hype the crowd, saying things like, \u2018I know you know the words; let\u2019s hear it!&#8221; and filtering a little so the crowd can hear themselves. The crowd really gets a kick out of being asked to be involved in their own show!\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 12pt; font-family: karla;\">When Adams isn\u2019t DJing, she enjoys reading, yoga, journaling, snowboarding, longboarding, watching TV and cuddling with her dog, Evie. She is also interested in scriptwriting and is currently writing a scripted comedy podcast with her friends called \u201cNondenominational.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 12pt; font-family: karla;\">\u201cI like to describe it as similar to shows like \u2018The Office\u2019 or \u2018Parks and Rec\u2019 but without visuals &#8211; only audio,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s about the antics of a very passionate pastor, her liturgical minister and their less-than-passionate congregation. It can be found wherever you listen to podcasts!\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 12pt; font-family: karla;\">Adams is also an avid reader and recommends Loganberry Books in Shaker Heights to fellow bookworms.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 12pt; font-family: karla;\">\u201cI feel so happy and at ease in there,\u201d she said. \u201cI love visiting even if I don&#8217;t get a book. My dog inspires me to laugh and enjoy life and maybe chase a squirrel every once in a while. I also find creative and artistic inspiration from artists on Instagram, which sounds like a Millennial clich\u00e9, but whenever I&#8217;m having a bad day, I look at the wonderful work people are creating and putting out into the world and I feel inspired to join them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: karla;\">What is your favorite place in Cleveland?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: karla;\">During the summer, the city hosts free outdoor yoga in Voinovich Park, which is the park by the harbor behind the Rock n&#8217; Roll Hall of Fame and the Cleveland sign. I love yoga and being outside, and those summer events merge both. And, hey, it\u2019s free!<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: karla;\">Who is your favorite actor or actress?<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: karla;\">That tends to change, honestly, but I will forever be obsessed with Julie Andrews and Robin Williams (RIP).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: karla;\">What is your favorite food?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: karla;\">Pizza &#8211; without question! Caramel M&amp;M\u2019s make a very close second.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: karla;\">I can\u2019t live without \u2026<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: karla;\">My dog, a white German Shepherd named Evie but whom I call Sugar, and a good book.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: karla;\">What is on your phone\u2019s background?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: karla;\">My phone background is twofold. My lock screen is a picture of my dog with my fianc\u00e9. My home screen is actually an abstract photo that I did not intend to take. If I had to guess, it happened at a concert, and I didn&#8217;t realize the camera was open. It is completely incoherent light streaks with lots of crazy colors moving around.
