{"id":12383,"date":"2019-10-29T16:39:34","date_gmt":"2019-10-29T16:39:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.spedj.com\/spe\/?p=12383"},"modified":"2025-03-21T15:44:55","modified_gmt":"2025-03-21T15:44:55","slug":"the-biggest-wedding-expense-regrets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.spedj.com\/spe\/wedding_lists\/the-biggest-wedding-expense-regrets\/","title":{"rendered":"The Biggest Wedding Expense Regrets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: karla; font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span class='et-dropcap'>S<\/span>ound Precision Entertainment has previously reported on the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.spedj.com\/spe\/cleveland-wedding-dj\/average-wedding-cost-remains-stable\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">average cost of a wedding<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; and it&#8217;s pretty pricey.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: karla; font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So it&#8217;s no wonder that, according to <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a survey by Novi Financial<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, more than a quarter of those who got married in the last 10 years say they wish they\u2019d spent less on their wedding day.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: karla; font-size: 12pt;\">Those who spent more money on their wedding also tended to have more regret. While only 20.9% of those who paid less than $10,000 on their wedding regretted the cost, 42.4% of couples who spent more than $30,000 on their wedding say they regret spending so much, and more than half (50.4%) who spent more than $50,000 now regret the cost.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: karla; font-size: 12pt;\">So what do newlyweds say they could have done without? Hiring a wedding planner tops the list, with nearly half of people (48.5%) saying a wedding planner wasn&#8217;t worth it or cost too much. Similarly, 36% of people said wedding favors weren&#8217;t worth the cost.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: karla; font-size: 12pt;\">The survey also showed that more than two-thirds (68.9%) of respondents wish they had done at least one thing to reduce the cost of their wedding. When asked what they\u2019d do to save money if they got married again, a fifth (20.9%) of couples say they\u2019d have a smaller guest list, while 18.3% say they\u2019d elope and 14.7% would choose a smaller wedding party.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: karla; font-size: 12pt;\">When it comes to how to pay for a wedding, most survey respondents said they paid through a variety of means.
