About 40 percent of all engagements happen between Thanksgiving and Valentine’s Day. Christmas Day is the most popular day of the year for a proposal with 16 percent of engagements occurring during the month of December. The next most popular months are May and July, which are tied at 9 percent. <\/span><\/p>\n

About 52 percent of women are surprised by the ring their partner chooses. However, about 33 percent show their partner pictures of rings and styles they like prior to the proposal.
