1. Rust color palette: Rust color schemes of blush, orange and brown are popular this autumn. These colors lend themselves to an earthy, bohemian wedding with a range of decor options whether you celebrate indoors or outdoors (think dried flowers and pumpkins). 2. Food trucks: Food trucks are a fun way to skip the “traditional” wedding meal and personalize the experience! This fall, many couples are bringing in their favorite eats to share with their guests. Tailored “bars” are also popular. Some fall ideas include pretzel bars, hot chocolate bars, s’mores bars, donut bars and apple cider bars, according to Elite Daily.  

3. Nontraditional registries: During the pandemic, couples were stuck at home and spent time and money on their kitchen and home necessities. So instead of a traditional registry with physical items, such as toasters and sheet sets, fall’s brides and grooms have opted to register for donations to their favorite charities or their honeymoon fund, Insider reports.

4. Wedding weekends: Another result of the pandemic, wedding weekends are a popular fall trend as many couples  desire more than a day of festivities now that they can see family and friends again. To keep the celebration going, the newlyweds often share a ceremony in the evening, with a morning-after brunch, organized activities and a reception the following day, according to Weddingbee.

5. Dress separates: Instead of a one-piece traditional wedding dress, many fall brides seek mix-and-match separates that they can easily swap from ceremony to reception. Check out BHLDN’s separates collection to build your ultimate bridal look!

3. “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” – Cyndi Lauper

We all know this lovable hit from Cyndi Lauper, which was released in 1983. It was the first major single released by Lauper as a solo artist. 4. “Call Me Maybe” – Carly Rae Jepsen

1. “1, 2, 3, 4” – by Plain White T’s

In February 2009, “1, 2, 3, 4” reached a peak of No. 34 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 Chart, becoming the band’s biggest after “Hey There Delilah.” This bubbly romantic tune has simple yet meaningful lyrics: “It’s easy as 1, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4/There’s only one thing/To Do/Three words/For you/(I love you) I love you.”

2. “Fallin’ For You” – Colbie Caillat

“Fallin’ For You” is from Caillat’s second studio album Breakthrough (2009). Caillat has said the song is about falling in love with a friend, and the music video reflects that premise. If your relationship evolved from friendship first, this might be the perfect recessional song for you!

3. “God Gave Me You” – Blake Shelton

This song was written and originally recorded by American contemporary Christian music singer Dave Barnes but is most widely known by the Blake Shelton cover from his 2011 album Red River Blue. Shelton said he heard Barnes’ version of the song on a contemporary Christian station and that it inspired him to propose to then-girlfriend Miranda Lambert (now ex-wife).

4. “She Is Love” – Oasis

“She Is Love” is a song by English rock band Oasis, written and sung by guitarist Noel Gallagher. Gallagher claims it was written in the Buckingham Gate Hotel in London in only 30 minutes. But don’t let the “rock” label put you off; the song has beautiful lyrics: “She is love/And her ways are high and steep/She is love/And I believe her when she speaks/Love/And her ways are high and steep/She is love/And I believe I do believe her when she speaks.”

5. “Lemonade” – Chris Rice

“Lemonade” is from the 2007 album What a Heart is Beating For by Chris Rice. The poppy, punchy song directly references a proposal: “So go ahead and ask her/For happy ever after/’Cause nobody knows what’s coming/So why not take a chance on loving/Come on, pour the glass and tempt me/Either half-full or half-empty/’Cause if it all comes down to flavor/The glass is tipping in my favor.”

While we often associate Pachelbel Canon in D as the traditional “walking down the aisle” song, you aren’t limited to this classic. Many brides choose to walk down the aisle to more modern music – whether instrumental or vocal. See below for some of our favorite picks.

1. “A Thousand Years” – by Christina Perri

“A Thousand Years” was co-written and recorded by Christina Perri for “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” While it isn’t the song Bella walks down the aisle to in the movie (that is a special version of Iron & Wine’s “Flightless Bird, American Mouth”), the music video shows scenes from the wedding. It is a beautiful and romantic song for walking down the aisle.

2. “Marry You” – Bruno Mars

Bruno Mars’ “I Think I Wanna Marry You” is a more upbeat song, but it is still perfect for walking down the aisle! Fun fact: In an interview with Idolator, Bruno Mars said that the song had its beginning by “just playing the chords” and then freestyling the lyrics.

3. “All of Me” – John Legend

This 2013 ballad is dedicated to Legend’s wife Chrissy Teigen, and she also appears in the music video. The lyrics are perfect for walking down the aisle, and the music is beautiful and romantic: “’Cause all of me/Loves all of you/Love your curves and all your edges/All your perfect imperfections/Give your all to me/I’ll give my all to you/You’re my end and my beginning/Even when I lose, I’m winning.”

4. “I Do (Cherish You)” – 98 Degrees

With lyrics such as, “I do/Cherish you/For the rest of my life/You don’t have to think twice,” this song is the ultimate boy band song to walk down the aisle to. Country music artist Mark Wills first released this hit in 1998. One year later, boy band 98 Degrees covered the song and released it as its fourth single from “98 Degrees and Rising.” It hit No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 and is featured on the soundtrack for “Notting Hill.”

5. “Bless the Broken Road” – Rascal Flatts

While this song has been recorded by several American country music artists, Rascal Flatts‘ version was highest-charting, becoming a No. 1 hit on the Billboard country music charts in 2005. Co-written by Marcus Hummon, Bobby Boyd, and Jeff Hanna in 1994, it tells how the journey through relationship heartbreak and disappointment is an important series of lessons along the broken road to finding one’s true love.

Most of us have seen the popular JK Wedding Entrance Dance video to “Forever” by Chris Brown (it’s gotten more than 100 million views since it debuted on July 19, 2009!). 

Sound Precision Entertainment loves a good dance routine so we’ve compiled a list of five songs for you to consider for a choreographed number during your wedding ceremony or reception. We’ve seen dances that involve just the bride or groom, the couple themselves, the bridesmaids and/or groomsmen, families and even guests! Let your creativity fly with these five song suggestions along with an accompanying example of a wedding dance routine.  

 1. “Raise Your Glass” – Pink

This Pink hit is a fantastic party song and perfect choice for a choreographed dance (check out the family example above!). It celebrates the first decade since Pink’s debut in 2000 and is dedicated to her supportive fans. Encourage your guests to “Raise Your Glass” and party the night away with a fun dance incorporating this tune!

2. “Thriller” – Michael Jackson

You probably already know most of the moves to this Michael Jackson hit, which is what makes “Thriller” an excellent choice for a choreographed dance. By the way, the largest number of people doing the “Thriller” zombie-dance routine, according to the Guinness Book of World Records: is “13,597 participants in an event organized by the Instituto de la Juventud del Gobierno del Distrito Federal at the Monumento a la Revolucion, Mexico City, Mexico, on 29 Aug 2009.” Think you can beat that?!

3. “Marry You” – Bruno Mars

Who says the dancing needs to wait until the reception? This couple included an acrobatic routine with the groom and several guests to Bruno Mars’ “I Think I Wanna Marry You.” This is a popular song for both engagements and weddings and was perfect for the groom’s entrance! Fun fact: In an interview with Idolator, Bruno Mars said that the song had its beginning by “just playing the chords,” and then freestyling the lyrics.

4. “What Makes You Beautiful” – One Direction

Another video featuring “the guys,” “What Makes You Beautiful” is a fun song for the groomsmen to use. It’s a fun and upbeat yet sweet song that is easy to learn, and most of the potential participants have probably already heard it before: This song was One Direction’s debut single and lead single from their debut studio album, Up All Night (2011). 

5. “Single Ladies” – Beyonce

Have your bridesmaids unleash their inner Sasha Fierce with a choreographed dance routine to this girl favorite. There are plenty of examples out there, and the actual dance routine from the video is pretty easy to adapt! P.S. It’s also a fun song for the garter toss! Trivia: “Single Ladies” won three Grammy Awards in 2010, including Song of the Year.

Happy New Year! We at Sound Precision Entertainment are excited to start the 2021 wedding season! However, we thought we’d get off on the right foot – resolution style. With more than 15 years of experience in the industry, we’ve tapped into our extensive knowledge to give you some different types of resolutions – those related to wedding planning. Read on to find out the top 5 wedding resolutions you need to make this year. 

1. I will take time to enjoy the moment. 

Many newlyweds will tell you that their actual wedding day went by in a blur. But with all that time and energy you spent planning, you need to take time to enjoy it! Make sure you pause and take a few moments to breathe throughout the day. Sit down and eat your dinner, sample a piece of cake and sneak off to watch the sunset. At the end of the day, you’ll be glad you did. 

2. I will ask for help.

It’s easy to get caught up in planning and think you can do everything yourself. But if you do, you’re looking for a burnout. Don’t be afraid to ask friends and family (and especially your bridesmaids!) for help. You can even make it fun with a wine and centerpiece-making night or a football and favors party. You’ll be surprised how many people are willing and able to help – if you only ask! 

3. I will finish the guest list. 

One of the toughest and most-procrastinated items on your wedding to-do list is the guest list. It’s better to get it over with and done than to push it off for a later date as the size of your guest list affects everything from your venue to your menu selections. It also helps to have a budget in place prior to working on your guest list so you know what you can afford. 

4. I will book my vendors.

It’s never too early to book your vendors, especially in the 2021 wedding climate. Couples who have postponed their weddings due to COVID-19 are competing with newly engaged brides for dates, and if you wait too long, you might miss out. If you’re concerned about changing your mind, ask your vendor about their cancellation policy. 

5. I will write my thank-you notes. 

Once the wedding is over, it is easy to push off one of the last items on your to-do list: thank-you notes. However, it is still important to send these as soon as possible to show your thanks and appreciation to your guests. You can start the process early by preaddressing envelopes. After the wedding, strive to make each card personal, thanking the person for not only their gift but any help or advice they may have given.

COVID-19 turned the wedding industry on its head last year, and, unfortunately, it will continue to affect couples in 2021. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t tie the knot and have an awesome time doing it. We’ve highlighted five trends below for 2021’s wedding season that will keep you and your guests safe while ensuring you have a fantastic event.

1. Plated Meals

While buffet catering is typically most popular for weddings as it is easy to set up and allows guests to choose what they want, in the COVID-19 era, plated meals are becoming more popular. Fewer hands on food and serving utensils is safer for everyone. Additionally, skip a candy or dessert bar in favor of prepackaged desserts and plated slices of cake.

2. Welcome Boxes

Another COVID-19 addition, couples are now providing guests with welcome boxes that contain 2021’s essentials: hand sanitizer, masks, programs, etc. These personal boxes are more sanitary than communal sanitation stations or program baskets. Many couples are even including their favors in these boxes, as well.

3. Yellow and Gray

Pantone’s Colors of the Year for 2021 are PANTONE 17-5104 Ultimate Gray + PANTONE 13-0647 Illuminating Is there anything more perfect for 2021? According to Pantone, “A message of happiness supported by fortitude, the combination of PANTONE 17-5104 Ultimate Gray + PANTONE 13-0647 Illuminating is aspirational and gives us hope. We need to feel that everything is going to get brighter – this is essential to the human spirit.” Expect to see this pairing in many upcoming weddings as couples look to embrace a bright and cheery color palette.

4. Informal “Wed Now, Party Later” Events

With ever-changing rules on gatherings, 2021 couples are planning more intimate “micro-weddings” of 25 guests or less with larger receptions down the road. For these ceremonies, brides often choose a simpler dress (or even a pantsuit!) and save the more ornate details for later. The overall mantra is that saying “I Do” is most important while the celebration can wait.

5. Weekday Weddings

Couples who postponed their weddings in 2021 have had to compete with those already scheduling for 2021. To be able to snag a desired venue or date, many are opting for weekday weddings. The costs associated with these dates are usually much cheaper, allowing couples to save for a potential “party later” reception. And who doesn’t want to skip out of the office for a mid-week wedding?!

With Halloween behind us and Thanksgiving right around the corner, the winter wedding season is fast approaching. To help you plan your colder-weather nuptials, we’ve compiled a list of our top five winter wedding tips for this season. If you have a 2020 date, there’s still time to incorporate some of these ideas into your ceremony or reception:

1. Choose flowers that are in season.

This includes amaryllis, anemone, camellias, Casablanca lilies, forget-me-nots, French tulips, gardenias, holly, jasmine, orchids, mini gerberas, paperwhites (narcissus), poinsettias and roses, according to Teleflora. Additionally, you can also use in-season fillers such as Queen Anne’s Lace, solidago, waxflower, limonium, Montecasino aster, statice sinuate, gysophila and hypericum. Also consider pinecones and mistletoe!

2. Don a jacket.

If you live in an area where the temperatures are frosty, you probably want to wear something over your dress for any outdoor excursions. Don’t worry about taking away from your look; a covering can, in fact, enhance it! Leather, faux fur and velvet are popular options this year. Consider shawls, wraps, capes, coats or even a cozy blanket! 

3. Keep your guests warm.

What better way to stay warm and cozy than with a hot chocolate bar! Create a station equipped with candy canes, cinnamon sticks, marshmallows, chocolate shavings, whipped cream, etc. You can also provide liquors such as Bailey’s or peppermint schnapps so your guests can concoct boozy creations.

4. Don’t be afraid of a “holiday” color palette.

While you don’t need to plan a full Christmas-themed wedding, winter or holiday colors can lend a festive feeling to your nuptials. Colors to consider include rose, wine, gold, emerald green, forest green, gray, white, silver, navy and gray-blue. 

5. Bold makeup.

While warmer-weather weddings typically lend themselves to more natural makeup looks, feel free to be more dramatic this winter! A dark red or plum lipstick can really make your winter wedding look pop, as can flashy, sparkly eyeshadow.
