The 2019 wedding season is just around the corner, and our professionals here at Sound Precision Entertainment are gearing up for our biggest year yet!
Because we have our expert hand on the pulse of the always-changing wedding industry, we already know what is going to be popular in the year ahead. Read on to see what we’ve determined to be the top 5 wedding trends for 2019:
1. Expect to see a lot of the 2019 Pantone Color of the Year.
The Pantone Color of the Year for 2019, which the company has announced annually for 20 years, is Living Coral (16-1546). Pantone describes it as “an animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge.” Expect to see this pink-orange color in many 2019 weddings, especially during the spring and summer. It is perfect for flowers, bridesmaids’ dresses, makeup and decorations!
2. Weddings aren’t just for Saturdays.
Friday and Sunday weddings are becoming more popular because they are generally cheaper and readily available. Many couples choose to turn a Friday or Sunday wedding have a weekend-long celebration, with festivities culminating on Sunday or continuing from Friday.

3. Props lend a personal touch to formal photos.

“Formal” photos have evolved from the posed portraits of the past. For both engagement and wedding photos, couples are opting for unique props such as sparklers, confetti and smoke bombs. Other popular wedding photo trends include homemade signs, pets and hobbies, such as sports or theater. Check out the props our boutique partner Capture Cleveland has captured in the past.

4. Wedding dresses will be simple and sophisticated.
Inspired by the royal weddings of Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle, plain, classic dresses are making a comeback in 2019. These dresses come sans bling, bows and florals and often include just a simple fitted silhouette.

5. Wedding trailers are the top videography trend of 2019.

In lieu of a save-the-date (or sometimes in addition to), many couples are opting for a “wedding trailer” to announce their engagement and/or wedding date. These are often comedic in nature and incorporate a couple’s favorite movie, such as “Star Wars” or “Jurassic Park.” Couples often show the trailer during the reception, as well.
