Phew! The January 2020 Cleveland and Akron 19 Today’s Bride Shows are over. Sound Precision Entertainment had an exciting weekend meeting tons of brides, and we can’t wait to help you plan your wedding!

Now that the show is over, you’re probably more than a little overwhelmed. Most likely, you have a plethora of photos, piles of brochures and an inbox full of emails. So how do you sort it all out?

Follow our post-show tips to ensure you get the most from the shows:

DON’T rush.

Take your time to sort through the information you brought home from the show. You don’t need to do it all at once! Take 30 or 60 minutes a day to look through the materials. Set aside the vendors, ideas, photos, etc. you like best, and trash those that you definitely won’t use.

ORGANIZE your top picks.

Most couples choose the ceremony and reception locations first, as their availability often affects the rest of the wedding. Then you can move on to DJs, photographers, videographers, bakers and other vendors. As you did before, review one pile at a time. Decide which vendors to contact, and write down any specific questions you have for each one beforehand. Be sure to mention any ideas you have from the pictures or brochures you received at the show. File your second-string choices away for now. You don’t want to toss them just in case your favorite vendors are unavailable or do not meet your needs.

CONTACT your choices.

With more than 150 vendors and thousands of attendees, the show can get pretty crowded. It’s unlikely you’ll be able to pop in at 3 p.m. and have a good experience. Plan to give yourself a few hours at the show to ensure you can see and experience everything. Also, give yourself time for a break if you need one. The fashion shows are a perfect place to get off your feet and enjoy yourself for a while before hitting the booths again!

DON’T put pressure on yourself.

You’re most likely not going to find everything you need at one show. But keep in mind that even if you don’t find a single vendor, at least you’ll have gotten some ideas and inspiration for what you want or do not want. And if you happen to forget something, don’t sweat it! You can always follow up with either the show or the vendor and get the information later.

BEGIN making appointments

You should set appointments with the vendors you are most serious about right away. While many vendors offer deals that are valid only at the bridal show, some will extend those deals beyond the show. When booking your appointments, be sure to mention that you met them at the bridal show, and ask if these deals are still available. The closer to the show you make your appointment, the better chance of receiving the deal!

DON’T forget to check your email.

If you provided your email address to vendors, your inbox is probably filling up. Hopefully you created a special email just for wedding-related correspondence! If you didn’t, don’t worry. You can create a separate address now and forward the emails. That will make it much easier (and less overwhelming!) to sort through wedding and non-wedding messages.

TIE up any loose ends

If you didn’t get a chance to visit a vendor at the show, or you think you may have forgotten something, don’t sweat it! You can visit this link to check out our pictures from the Akron show, which might help jog your memory. You can also still view the exhibitor lists for both the Cleveland show and Akron show.

Of Course! This is your big day, we want you to be comfortable and able to build a rapport with your DJ. We encourage open communication between us and our clients. We can set-up face to face meetings, video calls, and teleconferences.

How do I secure my date?

We ask that when you are ready to book, you give us a signed contract and a $800 deposit. The initial deposit comes off the final balance. After that, you are locked in to your date. Payment plans are available, but we do not require the final balance until a week before your wedding.

Are there any hidden fees?

No. All prices you see include tax, set-up & tear-down, and travel to most places. When paying with credit card there is a 3.8% convenience fee. No fees when paying by check or cash.

Do you work with other vendors?

Yes! While we have partnerships with vendors, we do not require you use them exclusively. You can always book us independently and we’ll ensure that all vendors are on the same page throughout the entire planning process and evening.
