Situated in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Happy Days Lodge is a former youth camp and National Park Visitor Center turned special events center that is perfect for a rustic, outdoor wedding.
Located about 30 minutes from both Cleveland and Akron in Peninsula, Ohio, the property features picturesque views of the surrounding woods, flora, rock and hiking trails.
Built in 1938-39 by the Civilian Conservation Corps, Happy Days Lodge is on the national register of historic places. Its name comes from the theme song of Roosevelt’s New Deal political platform, “Happy Days Are Here Again.” The design is a rustic “parkitecture” style that features horizontal lines, low silhouettes and neutral, natural colors that match the local surroundings. The building is made from 1900s wormy chestnut and contains sandstone floors and fireplaces made from locally quarried sandstone. The Great Hall is an open, breezy venue hat can seat up to 200 guests. With exposed beams and a mason jar chandelier, this unique space also features a screened-in porch with scenic views of the surrounding outdoor meadow.
The cost of booking the venue goes to support the park by maintaining the trails, recruiting volunteers and sponsoring outdoor education in Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
Happy Days Lodge hosts open houses throughout the year where couples can view the property, take pictures and ask questions. For information on these open houses or to request more information on the venue, visit the link above or call (330) 657-2909.
