Many newly engaged couples struggle with deciding whether to hire a wedding planner for their big day. While there are both pros and cons to hiring a wedding planner, ultimately the decision is up to you. At Sound Precision Entertainment, we’ve worked with couples who hired planners and those who did not. Here, we’ve assembled the pros and cons of hiring a professional wedding planner.

Pros

  • You typically receive special discounts. Wedding planners can often get discounts with vendors that a typical couple cannot. This is because vendors want the planner to hire them again in the future. As a bonus, wedding planners often know the best vendors to hire for the job (and which ones to avoid)!
  • You save yourself time and stress. You don’t need to run to 20 different stores to make sure you have enough ribbon in your exact shade when you have a wedding planner. This person will run your errands for you (and search out those special details) to make sure you have everything you need for your special day.
  • You can enjoy your day. Instead of frantically running around taking care of last-minute details, you can sit back and relax. Your wedding planner will be behind the scenes coordinating everything so you can enjoy the moment.

Cons

  • You need to pay an additional expense. Wedding planners typically cost $1,500 for day-of services and $5,000 to $10,000 for full-service planning, according to Angie’s List. Weddings are expensive, so this is an additional cost to the big chunk of change you’re already spending.
  • You aren’t in total control. If you’re a very hands-on person, hiring a wedding planner may not be for you. When you hire a wedding planner, you relinquish a bit of control. This person will take over running the show, so if you’re not comfortable with that, you may want to fly solo.
  • You miss out on bonding experiences. If you have family and friends who are willing to help you plan your wedding, it can be a great opportunity to bond and have some girl time. Need help assembling centerpieces? Invite the girls over for cocktails and you’ll have them done in no time (and some great memories)!

Whether you choose to hire a wedding planner or not, SPE will work with you to fulfill your Cleveland wedding entertainment needs. We offer a fantastic bundle deal where you can save up to $1,200 with our four brands: Sound Precision Entertainment; Capture Cleveland Photography, LLC; Red Frame Videography; and Monocle Photo Booth. Of Course! This is your big day, we want you to be comfortable and able to build a rapport with your DJ. We encourage open communication between us and our clients. We can set-up face to face meetings, video calls, and teleconferences.

How do I secure my date?

We ask that when you are ready to book, you give us a signed contract and a $800 deposit. The initial deposit comes off the final balance. After that, you are locked in to your date. Payment plans are available, but we do not require the final balance until a week before your wedding.

Are there any hidden fees?

No. All prices you see include tax, set-up & tear-down, and travel to most places. When paying with credit card there is a 3.8% convenience fee. No fees when paying by check or cash.

Do you work with other vendors?

Yes! While we have partnerships with vendors, we do not require you use them exclusively. You can always book us independently and we’ll ensure that all vendors are on the same page throughout the entire planning process and evening.
